I need to draw up the plan, however, it sounds like a good starting point is to review the provision of our face to face staff development model (workshops, seminars and ad hoc 1-2-1s). The aim being to see if;
- barriers exist which stop people attending (diability and gender (caring responsibilities etc.,))
- stop people effectively participating once attending
Hence the first stage will be to look at our current practice, from promotion, response post first contact, pre-session online materials, the face to face session (including activities) and post session follow up.
This will involve consulation with a number of different stakeholders, including staff, BUCS / GTA Working Group (about rooms), Booking, Departmental e-learning people, web services about confluence, disability advice team about provison of online material etc.,
At this stage we’ll focus on the face to face aspect of our staff development role. A recommendation would be to look at the online provision in the future.
