Moodle Brief … Start of Term

Aim of this is to gather info about where we are, and how we are positioned for the start of the new term (3-4 weeks)

Performance

Current Status:

  • Fine (excellent)

WP by end of September

  • Cull log tables (eta – week commencing 6th)
  • Remove old users (eta – week commencing 6th)
  • Revisit Roles (eta – week commencing 13th)
  • Optimise Database – BUCS (eta – week commencing 13th)
  • Planning Meeting with Dave Mayo (eta – week commencing 13th)
  • Advice post on Blog – start of term: managing the busy period (eta – week commencing 20th)
  • Moodle Staff Development Forum Post – start of term: managing the busy period (eta – week commencing 27th)

Contingency for start of term

  • On alert, liaise daily with Dave
  • Prepare to re-boot

Enrollments

Current Status:

  • Fine (sync is working)
  • Known bugs … see Trac, and issue with staff enrollment via SOOT

WP by end of September

  • Tackle Trac tickets (eta – week commencing 6th)
  • SOOT – SAMIS – Moodle (eta – week commencing 6th)
  • Disaster planning – SAMIS-Moodle fail, so enrol via batch upload or script (eta – week commencing 13th)
