The following is an emerging support model for all things about broadcasting, lecture capture and e-conference / workshop.

Level 1 Support – Internally Hosted – backed up, robust, full support team, available via UCS / LN’s Network

e-stream

  • budget holder: Learning Resources
  • operational service team: elearning
  • interface: ITS Helpdesk, Infrastructure (Karl B), Classroom Tech (Andrew F), Library Team

will enable (user management via Act Dev)

  1. live broadcast
  2. lecture capture
  3. upload and streaming of user generated content (youtube-esk)
  4. access to off air content (freeview etc.,)
  5. streaming to multiple devices

Need – pilot, include purchase of lecture capture encoder (?) etc.,

Blackboard Virtual Classroom (with skype audio)

  • budget holder: ITS
  • operational service team: elearning
  • interface: ITS Helpdesk,

Will enable (user management via VLE Course)

  • sharing of screen
  • text chat
  • audio (via 3rd party)

Level 2 Support – Externally Hosted – provide minimum end user support and advice. Is available via UCS / LN’s Network

Skype

  • budget holder: none >> software installed on request by ITS
  • operational service team: e-learning (awareness)
  • interface: ITS Helpdesk
