The video gives more insight into flipping in a study skills session in a taught course at UCS. It looks (first impressions) to have been very successful. There are 42 students on the course, of which 29 submitted the pre-session activity. Assuming they all pass, it will mean the much shorter workshop will have 13 people. Meaning this will be shorter, focused to individual need and hopefully more effective for the individual learner.
We’ve looked at reducing the workload with this roll out. So it included a Departmental colleague (Tom Ranson) – collaborative development model, the re-use of some existing guides, and the use of third party materials. The assessment component uses Blackboard’ Rubrics.
